Second Annual Barn Dance for the SoDu Farmers’ Market
October 21 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Join friends, neighbors, and would-be dance partners for a lively evening of great BBQ, delicious wine and beer, and fabulous fundraising! The South Durham Farmers’ Market Annual Fundraiser is back for 2017, hosted again by the picturesque Sassafras Fork Farm.
Last year’s barn dance raised a whopping $3,000 for the market. Let’s see what 2017 will bring for us!
Your $50 ticket goes directly towards supporting the market and putting on this fabulous fling, including:
🐔 Live bluegrass music from The Red Herrings and Kevin Drive, with dancing called by Aaron Ratcliffe.
🐔 Picnic-style BBQ plates from Green Button Farm’s own Picnic restaurant, including local pasture-raised pork, coleslaw, house salad, potato salad with dill dressing, braised collard greens, and sweet potato purée with spiced pecan crumble.
🐔 Cash bar with deliciousness from Botanist and Barrel and Regulator Brewing Co via cash bar
🐔 Homemade dessert bar with cakes, bars, and cookies provided by The South Durham Farmers’ Market own Cooking Club and various vendors
🐔 Silent auction featuring local products representing the best that Durham has to offer
Important Party Details
🐔 ALL AGES WELCOME! Bring the whole family. Kids under 6 are free!
🐔 DANCING NOT REQUIRED! This may be a dance, but you can always just watch people dance. Dancing knowledge not required, and actually getting out on the dance floor is only encouraged 🙂
All profits from this fundraiser will go towards the South Durham Farmer’s Market general operating fund. Our mission is to connect local, small farmers within 50 miles of the surrounding South Durham community, ensuring that local family farms have a place to sell their goods and that the local community has access to high quality, fresh meats and produce in a fun environment.
