Plant Earth Day, on Saturday, April 26th
Join us for an Earth Day celebration! We will be planting seeds, giving away transplants and making pine cone bird feeders. Plus, we will be collecting plastic bags and film in support of Don’t Waste Durham!
About The South Durham Farmers’ Market
We believe that everyone should have access to delicious and healthy food grown in a way that sustains and enriches our local environment – and that farmers and artisan food makers grow and create the most flavorful and nutritious foods when they are located within a 50 mile radius of South Durham.
Living in Durham makes these two things easy to get together, so each Saturday, all of us – farmers, artisans, artists, and shoppers – get together to host an outdoor market where we celebrate our love of good food and community. Each week we bring music and demonstrations, and everyone is invited. Eat local, y’all!
Directions to SDFM
We are located in Greenwood Commons Shopping Center, approximately 4 miles from the Streets at Southpoint and 1 mile from the Durham Southeast Library. Click on the map below for specific directions, or see general directions below.
I-40 East/West: Take the NC 55 exit towards Apex. We are located approximately 2 miles South on 55 on the right (corner of NC 55 and Sedwick).
From the Triangle Expressway: Take the Hopson Road Exit, continue East on Hopson. Make a right on NC 55. Turn left on Sedwick. The entrance to the market will be on the right.
DATA provides Saturday morning bus service to stops right beside the market site. All Route 7 buses stop every hour and half hour, connecting Hillside; Woodcroft; Southpoint; and the Parkwood neighborhoods. For more information on routes and scheduling, click here.
From CM Herndon Park/South of I-40: The market is located about 3 miles from the southern section of the American Tobacco Trail (ATT).
